Official Blurb for Darkness Taunts

I’ve been giving updates on Facebook, but for anyone who may have missed them I’ll restate everything here.  The cover for Darkness Taunts is now finished (as of two days ago).  The novel itself won’t be ready until the end of June, but I will be releasing three excerpts/snippets with the cover reveal to tide you over.  One of those will be here on this blog, so be on the look out.  I’ll add links to the other two once I have them.  I can tell you they will be at the following sites:

Bookish Brunette

Angela Wallace

For those who have requested a scene with Lucas, I promise at least one of them will have him in it.  Now for the official blurb for Darkness Taunts:

Melena Sanders has managed to avoid all things inhuman for most of her life, but after coming to Fairbanks, Alaska to rescue her best friend from supernaturals she hasn’t been allowed to leave.  That is, until her long-time nemesis comes to collect a favor she owes him.  Lucas might be half angel, but he’s all bad as far as she’s concerned.

Paying him back might get her out of town for a while, but her new destination will be anything but enjoyable.  Mel’s got to help the nephilim take care of a demon possession outbreak in Juneau.  Although something like this hasn’t happened for thousands of years, Lucas is certain Melena’s rare abilities are the key to solving the problem.

With violence in the capital city growing, she’s going to have to figure out how to stop it fast before the trouble spreads to other places.  Not only that, but working closely with Lucas is changing the dynamics of their hate-hate relationship—worrying her even more than the demons.  Getting back to her captivity in Fairbanks never looked so good.

If you’d like to add Darkness Taunts to your “to read” list on Goodreads, click here.  It is listed on there now with the blurb and will have the cover added once it is revealed.  Feel free to leave comments or ask questions below.  Provided you aren’t asking for major spoilers, I’ll be happy to answer.

Author Interview for the Melissa Craig and Charity Parkerson Show

Everyone seriously needs to listen to this episode.  For one, because I’m on it and I talk about my new novel, Darkness Haunts.  For two, because we had so much fun and got a bit (or a lot ) wild.  We talked about writing, publishing, music, and tons of other stuff.  Everyone who has listened so far has really enjoyed it.  My only warning is don’t exercise or do anything complicated while tuning in.  People have been known to nearly fall off treadmills from laughing too hard.  Also, keep any children out of hearing distance.  This is very much an adult interview. You can also load it for free from iTunes or on some Podcast apps.

Also, if you like the new theme song played on there, titled I will, check out Melissa’s post below to find out more about it and where it can be purchased.  I’ve already got it downloaded onto my iPod!  The video for the song is below as well.

Darkness Haunts Will Be Releasing Soon!

Books flying around the worldA lot has been going on as I get the first novel of The Sensor Series ready to release. It’s undergoing edits right now and the cover is being done by two amazing designers (one for the art and the other the typography). I can’t wait to reveal what it looks like. I’m also planning tours and looking for reviewers who might be interested (if you are one, let me know). It’s a ton of work, but hopefully the many things I’m doing will help get it noticed by urban fantasy/paranormal readers.

The synopsis is posted here and further details will be forthcoming. I am considering posting at least part of the first chapter so those who are curious can get a taste of what the story is like.  More excerpts will follow, but I’ll probably let the tour hosts get first dibs on them.  It’s only fair since they are helping to promote me.

I’m also going to start working on the next novel in the series, Darkness Taunts, so the wait won’t be too long for it.  Most of the first chapter is already written and it has been fully plotted.  I’m hoping it won’t take more than a few months to write, though I will have times where promotion of the first book slows me down.  The goal is to have the second one release no later than early May, but don’t quote me on it.  Sometimes these things go faster and sometimes they go slower.  I’ll know more as I get further into the writing.

For now, stay tuned for further information on the release of Darkness Haunts.  It will go live on Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Nook on January 15th.  The paperback version should be available within a week after that through Createspace.
